you think 5 girls moving as one yesterday was hard, well today they have to pack school bags for the Leyte children who were victims of the landslide. That’s easy…wrong! Because the catch is that the teens have to place the school supplies and arrange the bags using only their feet.
Clare read today’s task to the other housemates. They are given 100 bags to pack for 100 school children from Leyte. Each bag must contain the following:
-2 notebooks
-3 pencils
-1 sharpener
-1 eraser
-1 pencil case
-1 ruler
-1 pack of biscuits
At first the housemates were noisily packing the stuff going to and fro the supplies. Big Brother instructed them though to form a method so they could pack things faster and efficiently. He also warned them not to stand for they can only do the task sitting down. At first the housemates thought of doing an assembly line but in the end they worked faster in pairs – Jam-Matt, Kim-Olyn, Gerald-Clare and Mikee-Brenda.
paa09-kimstretch.jpgWhile doing the task, it dawned on the housemates how hard it is being a handicapped person. They praised those people who can only write, paint, eat etc. using only their feet. One by one the housemates started to feel their feet and toes cramping. Kim was asked by Big Brother to think of other ways of packing the supplies. Being ‘acrobatic’, Kim did her special stretching talent while putting stuff inside a backpack. Seeing her flexible body made Olyn say, “Di po namin kaya yun.”
Soon enough the housemates were able to complete 100 bags which they deposited again inside the storage room. The task made them happy because they were able to a good deed again.
